Web browser with emails, newsgroups, IM client, FTP and more.

With the passage of time, many Internet browsers have really scaled down their features and started to rely on third parties to add functionality through extensions. BriskBard browser is a little bit different in that it includes a bunch of different tools and clients inside of one web browser.

This Internet browser, which uses its own rendering engine, integrates an email client, RSS/Atom feed reader, an IRC client and a media player to name a few. It also integrates a full FTP client which makes downloading and uploading files to FTP sites quick and within the browser.

BriskBard is pretty comprehensive and does well by challenging some of the big players on the scene with companies like Google completely dominating the market.

The design and interface of this browser is a bit different from most others right now, in that it doesn't follow the flat design we're getting used to with the likes of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. It's skinnable and includes a few different color schemes from within the settings dialog.

More than just a web browser

BriskBard integrates an email client which supports the common server types like POP3, SMTP and IMAP protocols; a nice alternative webmail services often containing advertisements.

The FTP client is a nice touch, with a layout that's pretty similar to full FTP packages like FileZilla with left and right panels and support for secure FTP.

Being able to chat with its IRC client is a wonderful. You can connect to many of the large networks without having to fire up mIRC and register it for a fee.

Usenet Newsgroups are also a feature that has been integrated into BriskBard, making it possible to access NNTP servers. These are a type of bulletin board that was the main way of using the Internet before the Worldwide Web was born of Tim Berners-Lee.

Conclusion

All in all, BriskBard is an excellent addition to the web browser scene that integrates many of the long-forgotten things of the early days of the Internet while integrating some useful features for a modern experience.
